Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We have had a great time with both families this holiday season. We went to Fallon before Christmas and then to Ely after that. We were relaxing and having such a good time that I completely forgot to bring my camera out and take some pictures. But all that matters is that we had a great time with family!

I can say I am happy to be home. I'm tired of traveling and being gone, but it was all worth it. One day, Jon and I decided to take a drive around the Horse and Cattle Camp Loop outside of Ely. It was a nice drive. We visited Ward and walked around a little bit in the old mine part. We actually got to see some wildlife! The only pictures I took all week were of animals!

I start student teaching in a couple days and I am excited but also nervous. I'm sure it will fly by once I'm in there doing it and then I graduate. I can't wait to be done with school! I'm not sure how I'm going to handle that though because for the first time ever I won't be in school! Weird to think about!

Anyways have a safe and happy New Year! I'll be relaxing :)

Parade of Lights

This year I was able to drag Jon downtown for the Snowflake Festival and the Parade of Lights. It was nice because it was all basically in one street block. There were people singing and different business had sales and free hot chocolate while you walked around to different booths outside.

Then the parade was pretty cool. Definitely bright with a lot of lights on each float. It was pretty cold outside but the parade only lasted about 20 minutes so it wasn't to bad. After the parade there was what they call Christmas in the Nighttime Sky which is fireworks. They were really awesome fireworks. Best I have seen in awhile! All in all it was a good night that we spent together!

Christmas Lights!

Last night we decided to drive around and look at all the Christmas lights people have put up. It was kind of disappointing because most of the houses didn't have any lights up at all. We drove down a completely dark street at one point. Not sure what it is but we at least found some pretty cool decorations.

Christmas Decorations!

I decided to decorate for Christmas. Our decorations have been up for about a week and a half now. I absolutely love this holiday season and I like to decorate the day after Thanksgiving!

Jon thought I was crazy for wanting them up so early, but this is a great holiday and I like to enjoy it as much as possible. We decided to wrap all the presents last week also, so we could get them out of the way and under the tree. Yes we have a fake tree because it's just plain easier and as soon as we get a house, Jon wants to start cutting down fresh trees. So to make up for the fake tree, I bought a candle that smelled like a real Christmas tree!! :)

Unfortunately Jon will have to work the weekend of Christmas, but he will join me in Ely when he is on his days off. We plan to go to Fallon in another week or so, so we can see the family down in the warmer part of Nevada before Christmas!!

Joyride

We decided to take a little trip up Lamoille Canyon last week. It seemed like a nice day until we got to the end of the road. It was really cold up there! Not to much snow though surprisingly. Jon was playing with our new spot'n'scope. : )

The creek was frozen over, which was to be expected, but it was still nice to get a few pictures while we were up there.
